Four Types of Writing:

Descriptive – very detailed writing that appeals to the senses

Narrative – tells a story

Expository – writing that explains or informs

Persuasive – writing that tries to prove a point; argues

Aristotle’s Persuasive Appeals:

• how? prove you are an expert on your topic

Pathos – appealing to values, emotions, and beliefs of your audience

Third Omniscient – all-knowing
